Initially, Sunnyside was established by a large population of Italian vegetable farmers and is one of Denver’s original neighborhoods. Residents of the neighborhood can still enjoy the yield of the abundant fruit trees in the area.
Historic charm with urban convenience, mature tree-lined streets and modest yet historic architecture of Denver squares, bungalows, Tudors and new urban lofts make this neighborhood a gem.
44th and Zuni St. is quickly becoming a service, retail and restaurant corner but if you can’t find what you need there, Sunnyside is conveniently situated near major consumer areas like Highlands, Berkeley and Downtown Denver.
Once east of Navajo St the neighborhood becomes predominately industrial and will soon be home to a new Light Rail Station, slated for 2016, connecting the city and suburbs from Wheat Ridge and Arvada to Longmont and Boulder.
Six parks, Willis Case Golf Course, pop-up urban gardens, major Denver bike routes connecting anywhere in the City, nearby farmer’s market and the Sunnyside Music Festival command Sunnyside as a destination neighborhood.
