Alamo Placita

Alamo Placita Neighborhood Highlights

“Little Cottonwood Plaza” as it translates, Alamo Placita was recently designated a Historical District and is truly one of Denver’s most inviting neighborhoods.

The gorgeous homes of Alamo Placita neighborhood are a mix of Victorians, Tudors, Spanish-Mission and Bungalows. Sometimes referred to as Governor’s Park neighborhood – due to its proximity to the Governor’s Mansion – the beautiful tree-lined streets, mix-use community and gorgeous public gardens are a draw for anyone.

Anchoring the neighborhood is the idyllic Alamo Placita Park. The exquisite Formal Flower Gardens, existing in what used to be an old lake bed, might be the biggest draw not only for the community but for other Denver residents as well.

Located just along the bank of the Cherry Creek, taking off for a long bike ride or run is a breeze. And, given the neighborhoods location in a surrounding commercial district, any needs can be met including catching a movie at the old Esquire Theater.
